About the Family

A warm and welcoming private family based on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a professional, experienced, and nurturing full-time nanny to care for their two young daughters. The position will be in June at the family’s Hamptons home, where the nanny will be live-in from June through August, before transitioning back to the family’s primary residence on the Upper East Side in the fall.

The family has a   daughter, who will be turning 3 in June, and they also welcomed a new baby girl in mid-March. The parents are looking for someone who is warm, thoughtful, and proactive—someone who will become a trusted partner in raising their children and supporting their development.

The family values kindness, good manners, and respectful behavior, and they hope to find a nanny who shares these values and can guide the children with warmth while also setting appropriate boundaries.

Children:

  • One daughter 3
  • One infant born mid-March

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for both children, including infant care and toddler engagement.
  • Support the children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development, ensuring age-appropriate developmental milestones are encouraged.
  • During the summer months in the Hamptons, drive the older child to and from summer camp as needed.
  • During the school year in New York City, walk the child to and from her half-day 3s program, coordinating schedules with parents.
  • Prepare the children each morning for school or activities, including getting dressed and ready for the day.
  • Plan thoughtful, creative, and engaging activities when the children are not in school or camp, including educational play, outings, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Research and identify   local classes, programs, and activities appropriate for both children and proactively organize participation.
  • Provide attentive infant care, including feeding, nap schedules, and developmental play, and take the baby to age-appropriate activities.
  • Prepare healthy breakfast and lunch for the children each day.
  • Maintain organization of children’s belongings, play areas, and daily routines.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding schedules, development, and activities.
  • Travel with the family for occasional short domestic trips, with the possibility of international travel approximately once per year.
  • Offer schedule flexibility for   occasional evenings and weekends, particularly when the mother travels for work.

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is warm, loving, and highly reliable, with a genuine passion for working with young children. They should be proactive and organized, able to anticipate the children’s needs and create enriching daily routines that support both fun and learning.

This family is seeking someone who balances warmth with structure—someone who can guide children with patience and kindness while reinforcing manners and respectful behavior. Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a calm, positive demeanor are essential.

The right candidate will enjoy planning activities, exploring the city and local communities with the children, and creating a nurturing environment where the children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working as a nanny in a private household
  • Experience with toddlers and infants required
  • Excellent references
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Comfortable driving children when required
  • Ability to   live-in at the Hamptons residence during the summer months (June–August)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally
  • Highly dependable, organized, and proactive

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay: $40–$45/hour depending on experience
  • Two weeks paid time off
  • Paid U.S. federal holidays
  • Health insurance stipend

If you are a warm, experienced nanny who enjoys creating meaningful experiences for young children and is seeking a long-term role with a thoughtful and respectful family, we would love to hear from you!
